PARCO T-SLOT INDUSTRIES | ARCHITECTURE
When utilizing aluminum t-slot extrusion for interior and exterior design, many find that it is easily adaptable and accommodating to change. Finding the right material to fit a project’s design is key to achieving an overall theme and aesthetic for an architectural application.
T-slot offers the architectural industry a functional material solution that has a modern feel and look. The design capabilities and possibilities are limitless when using t-slot. Some architectural ideas include:
- Stair railings
- Outdoor tables and furniture
- Lighting fixtures
- Desks and workstations
- Kitchen cabinets and islands
- Artistic design elements
- Fixtures for organization
- Platforms
- Indoor/Outdoor landscape design
- Temporary event shelters
- Indoor enclosures
Parco profiles arrive machined (if applicable), cut, and ready for assembly. Our t-slot is 100% compatible, lightweight, and available is in different sizes and styles. Unlike wood or steel, aluminum t-slot does not require sanding, staining, welding, or coating.
Aluminum extrusions are built to last and can withstand outdoor elements for their lifetime, and do not need anything more than cleaning when necessary.
Design Capabilities
T-slot aluminum profiles’ natural design makes them the perfect material for architectural applications. LED lights, panels, and other mediums can be placed inside the “T” shaped channel or easily fastened to the profile’s face to create ceiling framing systems, artwork frames, and more. Also, profiles act as a natural passive heat exchanger. So, they are great for lighting, signs, or mechanical devices.
Our t-slot profiles and hardware are simple to assemble and do not require special tools or skilled labor. We can deliver your solution to you in kit form, pre-assembled, or fully assembled. With our CAD software, we can help you design and build your architectural application exactly how you want.
We have a wide range of panel and mesh materials and hardware that will suit your needs. If you need resistance against impact, chemicals, or UV, we have a panel for your solution.
T-Slot Architectural Design Tips
Whether it is for practical use or artistic, a few design tips to consider when using t-slot for architectural purposes are:
- Choosing the right profile
- Employing the right joint configuration
- Use high-strength extrusion for heavy-duty applications
Our aluminum extrusion specs are as follows:
Alloy: 6063 T6
Yield Strength: MPa = 200
0.2% Proof of Stress: ksi = 29
Tensile Strength: MPa = 230
0.2% Proof of Stress: ksi = 33
Straightness: .0125″ per foot of length, not to exceed .120 inches over 20 feet of length
Twist: Twist per foot of length does not exceed .25°, and total twist over 20 feet of length does not exceed 1.5°
Please see our technical data for more information about our aluminum extrusions, fastener torque specs, and benefits. Also, we have a free design quoter for you to get started designing your idea.
Another tip when designing architectural elements with t-slot is calculating the safety factor (SF), bending stresses, and buckling strength.
